Gastrotruck, chef-inspired food trucks and catering company is looking for staff for our 7th season!

In our business, we make everything from scratch, and only the best ingredients sourced from sustainable, environmentally responsible supplier partners are used. We believe strongly in respecting the food and the environment in which it comes from and take great pride in our efforts to source locally, practice 100% utilization in the preparation of our products, and run our business as a zero-waste operation. Part-time and full-time positions available, weekends are a must.
We are hiring for multiple positions, so please read descriptions and requirements below and send your resume, availability, position you are interested in applying for and why you're interested in working with Gastrotruck. Cashier Description and Requirements - Pay is $11/base, plus tip share
The first impression a customer will have of our truck will be you, so we need someone who is good with people, outspoken but courteous and professional; not just an order taker but someone who is warm and gracious and makes customers feel truly welcome at our truck and catering events. This person will also have the ability to interact with each and every customer and recommend food items or answer any questions our customers have. We pride ourselves on our connections with local partners and try to pass along that information when customers visit the truck, so being able to speak to our business principles is vital. In addition, the right person for this position will possess:

• Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
• Reliable transportation, work areas are located throughout the metro
• Basic computer knowledge, you will be responsible for handling all cash, debit and credit card
transactions through an electronic POS ticket system
• 6 months or more previous customer service experience
• Ability to work in an environment that changes everyday - location, weather, temperature, menu,
clients, etc.


Truck Supervisor and Line Cook - $13.50/base, plus tip share
In this position you will fully be responsible for executing a shift, meaning you load the truck, drive the truck, set up the truck, work the shift as line cook, get the truck back to the commercial kitchen, make sure truck is properly cleaned for next shift. In addition, the right person for this position will possess:

• A valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Comfortable driving large vehicles, manual and automatic
• At least 3 years of progressive culinary experience, with some experience in a leadership/supervisory
• Completely open and flexible schedule, and an understanding that Friday nights and Saturdays are a
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment and multi-task
• Excited about working with quality products and making food from scratch
• Comfortable speaking with customers about our vendor partners, and how food is made
• A strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Capable of following all policies and procedures
• Knowledge of social media - post menu, location, pictures (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
• Ability to work with cash/POS system
• Complete understanding of Health Code, with previous ServeSAFE certified • Strong leadership skills, as you will be responsible for the staff on shift
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills


Kitchen Utility/Prep Description - $9.50/base, plus tip share
Kitchen utility employees will be responsible for daily duties to maintain kitchen work area, equipment and utensils in a clean, sanitary and orderly fashion. This includes setting up dish machine for shift, sweeping, mopping, doing additional cleaning as assigned, etc. This position will also be responsible for prepping food items, and can progress quickly given the right individual. In addition, the right person for this position will possess:

• Reliable transportation and be available to work long hours, night/weekends/days • Ability to communicate in either English or Spanish
• Desire to help with special events and catering as needed
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow specific instructions
• Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to learn routine procedures and techniques
• Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, customers, vendors and the general public
• 6 months previous experience in similar position
