Toby Tournament
Who was Toby Landgraf?

Toby is fondly remembered saying, “Education is the key to everything.” As evidence, many still recall Toby’s “new guy schools” that he ran for several years for those new to equipment sales. They were never brand-specific, but always professionally done. Those who attended left better equipped to sell heavy food service equipment than when they arrived.
That tradition was carried on by Toby’s family after his untimely death in 1985 at age 38. Memorial gifts to the family were pooled by the Landgrafs and given to the University of Wisconsin-Stout to endow a scholarship fund in Toby’s name. These scholarships are awarded by the Food Service degree program for students from Minnesota. Proceeds benefit the local food service industry by providing scholarships for hospitality students attending the University of Wisconsin - Stout and culinary students attending one of the Minnesota two year colleges through the Minneapolis ACF Chapter.

This Years Event - August 12, 2019
This year will mark the 33rd Anniversary of the Toby Tournament and will be held Monday, August 12, 2019 at the MN Valley Country Club, Bloomington, MN.. Mark your calendars now to attend this fantastic event.
The Toby Foundation was developed by a group of hospitality professionals to honor their late colleague, Toby Landgraf, an outstanding equipment representative and co-owner of Vader and Landgraf Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
To honor Landgraf’ s passion for education, the Toby Foundation organized a charity golf tournament in 1986. The tournament’s proceeds provide scholarship opportunities for MN hospitality students. The tournament has raised over $500,000 since 1986 and has assisted about 500 hospitality college students from Minnesota.
The Toby Tournament is an excellent way for hospitality professionals to come together in support of the industry and higher education. The Toby Tournament committee has agreed to partner with the ACF Minneapolis Chef’s Chapter and allow the chapter to present scholarships in the name of Toby Landgraf Memorial Educational Foundation. Dennis McGuire will serve on the ACF/MCC Scholarship Committee representing the Toby Foundation
